Ovulation and Conception

What is ovulation

The release of an egg from one of the ovaries is known as ovulation. This is the menstrual cycles most fertile time. You can determine your ovulation fertile window, which is the most fertile time in your cycle before the egg is released from the ovary.

Calculating ovulation and Pregnancy

Ovulation occurs between days 11 and 21 of your cycle. If a woman engages in sexual activity in the days preceding ovulation, she is more likely to conceive. It is possible to become pregnant in the days preceding ovulation because sperm can survive inside the female body for several days.

How long does ovulation last?

Ovulation lasts between 12 and 24 hours. When your ovary releases an egg, it remains in your body for 12 to 24 hours before dissolving or dying if it is not fertilized by a sperm. This causes the uterine lining to bleed, resulting in menstruation.
